Deepavali Yama Deepam Story:

• This event is connected to a fascinating story about King Hima’s son, who was sixteen at the time. He was supposed to die from a snake bite on the fourth day of his marriage, according to a story. On the fourth day of their marriage, he says, his wife wouldn’t let him sleep.
• She put all of her gold and silver decorations at the entrance to the room and lit Diyas, which are small lamps, all over the room. She then started singing and telling her husband stories. So, when Yama showed up in the form of a snake, the sparkling jewels made him lose his sight. He couldn’t get into the prince’s chambers because of this.
• He went to the top of the mountain of ornaments and sat there all night, listening to music and stories. In the morning, he left without a fuss. Because of this, the woman kept her husband from dying. Since the day of Dhanteras, people have known about Yamadeepdaan. Since then, people have lit lamps on this day to honor Yama, the god of death.
