Murugan Temple Tiruchendur Daily Pooja Seva Timings in Detail:
The devoted and dedicated priests of the temple are noted for their big and ornate pooja seva. Daily worship at Hindu temples is conducted in accordance with the Agama Shastra, a system of norms and regulations.
The Thiruvanandal Pooja, the first of the day, begins at 5:30 in the morning. This pooja is performed in front of all the temple’s deities as an offering to Lord Murugan. At six in the morning, devotees undertake a ritual called the Vila Puja to appease the gods and ask for their favor throughout the day.
Each day, between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM, devotees conduct the Sirukala Sandhi Pooja. This special pooja is performed at the exact time when night turns to day and day turns to darkness. It is widely believed that participants in this pooja would have more fortune and happiness as a result of their devotion.
The Vizha Pooja is done twice a day, once at 7 a.m. and once at 5 p.m. During this elaborate pooja to Lord Murugan, Vedic hymns and musical instruments are chanted and played. At 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, devotees perform the Kalasandhi Pooja, a pooja that marks the change from morning to afternoon and from afternoon to evening.
At eight in the morning and noon, devotees participate in the Ucchikala Pooja. Some consider noon to be the most auspicious time to perform pooja, or religious rituals, to the god. Sayaratcha Pooja is a pooja that is given to the god between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m., both at the time of sunset.
The Ardhajama Pooja is a pooja done at 6:00 p.m., during the twilight hours. This pooja is held in high regard because of the hope it brings for the devotees’ happiness and success in life. At 7:30 p.m., devotees conduct the Palliarai Pooja, a pooja meant to appease the gods before they go to sleep for the night.
