The Hindu calendar says that the Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. Some Hindus celebrate the happy Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi by going without food for the whole day. They break their fast when the sun comes up the next day. People can choose to fast with water and fruit or without them. Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi 2023 Pooja Details:

• On this day, people who worship Lord Vishnu fast completely to honor the god. The fast on Ekadashi lasts 24 hours, from sunrise on Ekadashi to sunrise on Dwadashi Tithi.
• The fast is over when food is given to the Brahmins and prayers are said to Lord Vishnu.
• People who follow this way of life don’t cook or eat rice, beans, or grains.
• In order to please Lord Vishnu, they also sing bhajans and chant mantras.
• On this day, it is also thought to be very lucky to read the Vishnu Sahasranaam.

Story Behind Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi

Lord Sri Krishna tells King Yudhisthira in the Hindu mythology book Brahma-Vaivarta Purana why Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi is important in three worlds. People believe that if they keep the Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi, they will get Lord Vishnu’s heavenly home, Vaikunth, and all the happiness they could want in this world.

Hindu myths say that on this Ekadashi, Sri Hari Vishnu rests and switches from sleeping on his left side to his right. Because of this, “Parsva Parivartini Ekadashi” is another name for this Ekadashi. In different parts of the country, people celebrate the Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi with great devotion. It is also known by different names, such as “Jaljhilini Ekadashi” and “Jayanti Ekadashi.” The person who keeps the Vaishnava Parsva Ekadashi vrat will be forgiven for all the bad things they have done in the past and will receive Sri Hari Vishnu’s blessings.
