Dates have been set for the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Mahajatara in 2024. In the month of February, the Mahajatara will be held for four days. The temple monks said when the Medaram Mahajatara would take place in 2024. From February 21 to 24, the Mahajatara will take place.

On February 21, Day 1 of the festival, the image of Sarakka is taken from Kannepalli to Medaram. From Poonugondla to Medaram, the image of Pagididda Raju is taken. On Day 2, February 22, Sammakka’s figure and the Kumkum coffin are taken to Medaram (usually by midnight) after long pujas by the Koya tribes on Chilakalagutta, the hill where the Kumkum casket is kept. The statue of Govinda Raju is taken from Kondai to Medaram.

On Day 3, February 23, Sammakka and Saralamma are honored with their respective wives, Pagididda Raju and Govinda Raju. On Day 4, February 24, the “Tallula Vanapravesham” (entry into the bush) marks the end of the Jatara. The Kumkum coffin is taken back to Chilakalagutta and kept there until the next Jatara. Sammakka Sarakka Temple or Sammakka Sarakka Temple Medaram is a well-known old temple that is dedicated to two brave women who stood up for their town and helped it get better. It is in the state of Telangana, in the city of Medaram. It is about 95 km from Warangal and 260 km from Hyderabad. The 12th century was when the Sammakka Sarakka Temple was built.
