The Poolangi Seva is performed after the Tiruppavada Seva every Thursday. After the morning pooja, the Mula Virat is draped only in Dhoti and Uttareeyam taking out all ornaments and flowers. The Kasturi and the Thirunamam will also be reduced in size resulting in a distinctive Netra Darshan.

A Golden vessel consisting of Pulihora and other delicacies such as Payasam, laddu, jalebi, thenthola, and appam is placed with coconuts, flowers, sandal paste, Kumkum, deepam in a trapezoid vessel to be offered as naivedyam to the Lord. It is believed that the “Pulihora” acts as a Veil shielding devotees from His Powerful Gaze.
Poolangi Seva Timings:
- The Sahasra Kalabhishekam Seva is offered every Thursday from 9.00 P.M – 10.00 P.M.
- The pilgrims should arrive one hour before the Seva at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex – 1. All pilgrims must adhere to the traditional dressing norms with dhoti around the waist and the upper cloth on the shoulder for men and sarees for women.
- Pilgrims should carry all the required documents as well before entering the temple.
Tirumala Poolangi Seva Timings Online Booking
Pilgrims can avail of tickets through e-portals run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in all districts for online booking. Like all other Sevas, Tickets for Poolangi Seva can also be booked from 3 days to 90 days well in advance. The Ticket cost for the Seva is around Rs.850 Per person. The Pilgrims can book for 6 persons at a time. After the Seva, devotees receive 1 Blouse piece or 1 Uttariyam, 1 big laddu, 1 vada,1 Jalebi, 1 Tentola, and pulihora as Prasadam.
