The hamlet of Ahobilam may be found in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. This area is known as the Eastern Ghats. Inside the confines of this temple are nine distinct Narasimha shrines that are spread out across a radius of five kilometers.

Garuda, in his capacity as an Avathara, had the desire to see Lord Narasimha. To fulfill his wish, the Lord manifested himself in nine different forms before settling down in the hills and dense forests that surround Ahobilam. This mountain range was once referred to as Garudadri, Garudachalam, and Garudasailam due to its namesake mountains. The Lord brought Hiranyakasipu to his end in Ahobilam and protected Prahalada’s safety at the same time. 

During her time spent as a member of the Senchulakshmi hill tribe, Mahalakshmi agreed to take on the role of the avatar and married the Lord in this garb. The Sri Ahobila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is widely considered to be among the most respected Sri Vaishnava temples in all of India. One of the nine shrines in Ahobilam is called the Malola Nrisimha temple, and Sri Ahobila Mutham is devoted to the utsava moorthy who presides there.

This temple is lauded by Thirumangai Azhvaar in ten verses in the poem Periya Thirumozhi. It is said that the murti at Panakala Narasimha Swami is the only one of its sort and that it depicts the Narasimha Avatar of Bhagavan Srihari Vishnu. As they reach the holy of holies, worshipers pay their respects solely to the face of Narasimha with his mouth open. The kavacha, also known as the mask, is crafted out of gold.

One of the most prevalent types of offerings that are given to the gods is called panakam, and it is made in the madapalli of the temple. A Panakam drink that is energizing and revitalizing, flavored with water, lemon juice, jaggery, ginger powder, cardamom powder, and black pepper. It is said that by making this great sacrifice to Narasimha, one may keep the incomprehensible anger of Narasimha under control. As the panakam that has been presented by the worshipers is poured into the mouth of the murti by the priests, there is a noise that sounds like gurgling. 

As soon as the last bell has stopped ringing, the priest will cease pouring the panakam and would give the worshiper whatever is left over as Prasad. The fact that different believers are given varying sums of their investments back is a mystery. There is no way for the panakam to flee since there is nowhere for it to go. The Narasimha Jayanti festival that Hindus celebrate has a tremendous amount of importance.

According to the Drik Panchang, this holiday takes place on the 14th day (Chaturdashi Tithi) of the Shukla Paksha of the Vaishakha month. No Expense Darshanam Timings: The hours of operation are on weekdays. The Valley of the Ahobilam The establishment will be closed in the afternoon from one to three. The hours when Upper Ahobilam is closed each day are in the afternoon.
