Kanipakam Temple Abhishekam Timings Online Booking and History:
The construction of the temple is said to have taken place during the rule of the Chola dynasty, which took place in the 11th century AD. There is a legend that tells of a farmer called Kusuma who prayed to Lord Ganesha for assistance with his crops. In response, Lord Ganesha is supposed to have shown himself as an idol in front of the farmer. Around the idol, the farmer constructed a modest shrine, which would later grow to become the Kanipakam shrine.
It is said that a group of cowherds came upon the idol of Lord Ganesha when they were grazing their cattle, according to another mythology that is connected to the temple. When they attempted to move the idol after discovering it was buried in the muck, they discovered that it was unable to be moved. They came to the conclusion that it was a heavenly idol, and as a result, they constructed a modest temple around it.
