Karnataka Pravasi Soudha is the Karnataka State facility. The name simply means “Karnataka pilgrims’ building,” and it is also commonly referred to as the Karnataka choultry or Karnataka Bhavan.

It is administered by the Karnataka government’s religious endowments department, not by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). This is an important distinction: a TTD accommodation booking and a Karnataka Pravasi Soudha booking are two completely different systems. Because it is a state-supported facility for its own residents, eligibility is limited to people who can prove a Karnataka address. The accommodation is straightforward and clean rather than hotel-style, intended to give Karnataka pilgrims a budget-friendly base close to the temple.

The official Karnataka booking portal lists room categories across two blocks — non-AC rooms and AC suites of a few types. Each room is typically meant for up to two adults and one child, and a registered user is usually allowed to book a limited number of rooms for a short stay. How to Book Officially

There are two honest ways to get a room, and both go through Karnataka’s own channels — never through a private agent or a number sent over WhatsApp:

Location & How to Reach

Karnataka Pravasi Soudha sits on Ring Road at Tirumala, opposite the Tirumala Museum, and is within a short walk (roughly 5 to 10 minutes) of the Sri Venkateswara temple complex. To reach Tirumala itself, most pilgrims first arrive at Tirupati:

• By train: Tirupati railway station is well connected, including direct trains from Bengaluru and other Karnataka cities.
• By air: Tirupati (Renigunta) airport is the nearest; Bengaluru is the larger hub roughly a few hours away by road or a short flight.
• By road / bus: APSRTC and KSRTC buses run between Karnataka and Tirupati. From Tirupati, frequent buses climb the ghat road to Tirumala; you can also walk the footpath steps.
• Tirupati to Tirumala: take a TTD/APSRTC bus from the Tirupati bus stand up to Tirumala, then walk to Ring Road near the museum.
