Karwa Chauth 2022 – Story:

An old story says that there once was a beautiful queen named Veervati. She was very loved by her seven brothers. She was married to a king who was very beautiful. In her first year of marriage, she had to do a very strict Karwa Chauth fast. It was even harder than her first Karwa Chauth to go without food and water. Her brothers couldn’t stand to see her in pain, so they made a fake moonrise. She thought it was true and was happy to break her fast.

Soon after that, she got the sad news that her husband had died. She felt terrible. On the way to see her husband, Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati told her what had happened. Maa Parvati cut off her body and gave the queen a few drops of her own holy blood. She tells Veervati that she should be careful the next time she fasts. Veervati put the holy blood on her husband, and by some miracle, he came back to life. Since then, the Karwa Chauth festival has been held every year.
