Guruvayur temple maintains a complex system of rites that, according to tradition, can be traced back to Sri Adi Sankaracharya. The temple opens at 3 a.m. and shuts around 10 p.m. after the day’s poojas and rituals. Normally, there are 05 poojas and 03 processions called Sreeveli, in which the heavenly deities are propitiated and the Lord’s Thidambu is carried on the back of an elephant. There will be a total of 21 Poojas during the days of Udayasthamana Poojas.

Guruvayur Temple Darshan Timings Online Booking Seva Details
- Go to the official website of Guruvayur temple. Click here to Booking
- Please click the Registration button.
- You will be taken to another page where you must enter your information.
- You must add your photo there.
- Then you must submit the following information: Devotee (As per ID Proof) Name, Age, Gender, Aadhar, Phone, Email-ID, and Birth Star.
- Then you must give your full address and Aadhar number as proof, as well as your email address, password, and confirmation password.
- Finally, press the Continue button.
- You will receive an OTP to your mobile phone.
- The registration will be finished after the OTP is entered.
- Next, navigate to https://guruvayurdevaswom.in/.
- Enter your login username and password.
- Then, on the Top Tab, select Free or Special Darshan.
- Now provide the Devotee Details such as Date and Slot Time.
- The number of devotees must then be entered. Devotees should be between the ages of 10 and 65.
- Then input the Special Darshan Total Amount. There is no charge for Free Darshan.
- After that, you must enter the details for each Devotee.
- Finally, click the Confirm button to reserve the slot.

Darshan is only permitted at the temple from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. According to the Devaswom Minister, 150 persons could receive darshan in an hour. He did, however, state that VIP darshan is not permitted in the shrine.

Visitors to the Guruvayur Temple must follow a strict dress code.
- Men must wear mundu around their waist, with no clothing covering their chest. However, it is permissible to cover the chest area with a little piece of cloth (veshti). Boys are permitted to wear shorts, however, they are not permitted to wear a shirt.
- Girls and women are not permitted to wear pants, dresses, or short skirts. Women may wear saris, while girls may wear long skirts and blouses. Women’s dress codes are currently eased, with shalwar kameez (churidar pyjamas) permitted.
