Sahasra Kalabhishekam seva is one of the latterly added sevas that is offered to Lord Venkateswara every Wednesday. Having started recently, it is one of the toughest sevas with limited tickets to attend. Hence, the pilgrims are advised to book tickets well in advance and to report early.

About Sahasra Kalasabhishekam?

Sahasra means “thousand” and kalasha means “vessel”. Sahasra Kalasabhishekam means 1008 silver vessels along with eight more parivara vessels and one Golden Vessel filled with Abhisheka Teertham also known as “Parimala Theertham” – pure water with sandal paste Aroma are used for abhishekam to Sri Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy. This sacred ritual is observed every Wednesday after the second bell in the morning at the Bangaru Vakili to the processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy varu along with his two consorts, Sri Vishwaksena- the chief commander of Lord. All the silver idols are decorated and brought outside the Bangaru Vakili where a curtain is placed Bhoga Srinivas Murthy and the Mula Virat inside the Garbhalayam. One priest will carry the water from the Golden Vessel to Dwajasthambam. Then the water is sprinkled on the Feet of the Lord Venkateswara. Since this Seva is performed in Ekanta Seva, the curtains are lifted at the end so the pilgrims can see the deity.

Sahasra Kalasabhishekam Seva Timings

  • The Sahasra Kalabhishekam Seva is offered every Wednesday at 6. oo A.M and can last an hour except on special occasions such as Pavitrotsava, Brahmotsavam, etc.
  • The pilgrims should arrive one hour before the Seva which is at 5.00 A.M at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex – 1.
  • All pilgrims must adhere to the traditional dressing norms with dhoti around the waist and the upper cloth on the shoulder for men and sarees for women.
  • Pilgrims should carry all the required documents as well before entering the temple.

Tirumala Sahasra Kalasabhishekam Seva Online Booking

Pilgrims can avail of tickets either through online booking or in-person booking after arriving at Tirumala. Like all other Sevas, Tickets for Sahasra Kalasabhishekam Seva can also be booked from 3 days to 90 days well in advance. The Ticket cost for the Seva is around Rs.850 Per person. Each ticket allows 6 persons to attend out of which one couple is allowed for Sankalpam which sums up the overall cost to Rs.5000. After the Seva, devotees receive a silk dupatta, a blouse piece, 7 big laddus, 7 vadas, 5 appams, 5 dosas, pulihora, chakkara Pongal and payasam as Prasadam.
