Panchami Theertham Tiruchanoor

The religious ceremony known as Panchami Theertham commemorates Sri Padmavati Devi’s auspicious birthday and the day she appeared as a Golden Lotus in Padma Sarovaram during the Kartheeka month of Sukla Panchami.

Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestial bath with milk, honey, turmeric, coconut water, and turmeric) has been done in a colorful manner in the elegantly decorated mandapam facing Padma Sarovaram for Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar and the processional deity of Goddess Padmavathi.

In the asterism (group of stars) of Uttarashada, where Panchami Teertham is held each year on the day of the star’s advent, the Goddess, who was dressed in a half-white silk saree with gold color zari and embossed work, seemed lovely on Her Birth Day. As a unique attraction, she was adorned with a beautiful ornament made of huge emeralds that were sent from Tirumala shrine as a “Birth Day Gift” from Her Love Lord Sri Venkateswara. Sri Sudarshana Chakram was brought inside the Padma after the ritual, which lasted an hour.
