Puri Jagannath Temple to Sea Beach Distance
Puri Beach is a natural sea beach located along the shore of the Bay of Bengal in Puri, Odisha, 2 KM from Jagannath Temple and 2.5 KM from Puri Junction. It is regarded as one of India’s cleanest beaches, as well as one of the greatest Puri tourist attractions.
Puri Beach is well-known for its excellent white sands and crystal blue waters, as well as its tranquil and calm surroundings. The beach has remained a spiritual location and is frequented by pilgrims seeking a purification bath who travel to Puri to pay their respects to Lord Jagannath. The broad white sandy beach attracts both foreigners and Indians. Visitors can take a promenade and shop for pearls and seashell souvenirs from local merchants.
Sudarshan Patnaik, an internationally known sand artist, created sand sculptures on the beach. The subjects are often inspired by sculptures on temple walls, mythological characters and incidents, and current occurrences. The beach also hosts the yearly Puri Beach Festival. This event, which takes place every November for five days, attracts both locals and tourists.
Puri’s beach provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see both the dawn and sunset on the same beach. A rather clean and quiet spot for sunbathing; however, be cautious when swimming at the beach, as currents in Puri are quite powerful and can be deadly. The section on the Chakra Tirtha side is much more peaceful and enjoyable for a lengthy walk.
