Atla Taddi Pooja Vidhi

Atla Taddi nomu, which is written in Telugu as , is a traditional festival in Andhra Pradesh. Hindu married women celebrate it to ask Goddess Gauri for a happy and long marriage. This festival is a sign of a woman’s strength and the good things she does that help her husband. As the name implies, Atla Taddi is based on Atlu, which means dosas. Taddi is just a short form of the word “Tadiya,” which means “third day.” Atla Taddi Nomu is observed in Aswayuja Masam. Atla Taddi is celebrated on Aswayuja Bahula or Krishna Paksha Tadia, which is the third day of the waxing phase of the moon in the Ashwayuja month of the Telugu calendar.

Process of Udyapana:

  • There will be ten married women at the house.
  • Vayanam must be given to every woman. Vayanam is made up of 10 Atlu or Dosas, Dakshina or money, black beads or Nalla Pusalu, Lakk Jollu or Pasupu, and Kum Kum, Tambulam.
  • There is no need to keep the Nomu after Udyapana.

Atla Taddi Pooja Vidhanam in Telugu Puja Procedure

  1. On this day, all married women and young girls get up before dawn and take a holy bath. They then eat Suddi before sunrise. This is made with rice, yoghurt, and a special sauce called Gongura chutney.
  2. They don’t eat or drink anything for a whole day, not even water, until they see the moon at night and worship it.
  3. Women and girls put mehendi on their palms on the night before Atla Taddi. Married women wear traditional clothes and wear jewellery and other things that show they are married.
  4. The whole day is spent singing traditional festival songs, swinging, and making food just for the festival.
  5. When the women see the full moon in the water in the evening, they worship Goddess Gauri by giving her ten dosas.
  6. Also, ten dosas and a “thoram” are given to the other married women.
  7. For the worship, rice grains are used to make a “kalisam.” Coins, flowers, mango leaves, turmeric, and kumkum are also used in this.
  8. For Atla Taddi, special dishes are made, like Paltalikelu, which is a sweet dish made with rice flour, jaggery, and milk, as well as sambar with eleven vegetables and gonghura pachadi.

    • Hello, Yes, You can do Atla Tadde for 1st Time in Moodham also. Because, It is not LikeAnantha Padmanabha Vratham, Kedara Gowri Nomulu, Sri Satyanarayana Vratham or Vara Lakshmi Vratham. Atla tadde is Gowri Pooja, Women will do for good Husband and Children. So Moodham is not a problem.
