The procedure of Mrityunjaya Homam:
- Wake up early in the morning, preferably in the Brahma muhurtham.
- Clean the house and Pooja area thoroughly and decorate the house with thoranams and flowers.
- Shodashopachara rituals are performed to welcome god to the homam.
- Before starting Mrityunjaya homam, Ganapati pooja will be done, and next to the homam.
- During the homam, chant Lord Shiva’s Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra 108 times with Jaap Mala.
- During the Mrityunjaya homam the priest will chant 21 mantras.
- At the end of the homam, haarathi is given at the end and prasadam will be distributed to devotees.
