Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a Hindu festival and holiday. It is mostly observed by Vaishnavas, who see it as a special Ekadashi. It occurs on Mokshada or Putrada Ekadashi. Vaikunta Ekadasi Fasting Procedure and Pooja Vidhanam in Telugu

  • Vaikuntha Ekadashi occurs on Monday, January 2, 2023.
  • On January 1, 2023, Ekadashi Tithi begins at 19:10.
  • Ekadashi Tithi ends on January 2, 2023, at 20:25.

Mukkoti Ekadashi, as it is known in Telugu-speaking regions, is celebrated similarly at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. Tirumala features a one-of-a-kind entrance called Vaikuntha Dvaram, which encircles the sanctum sanctorum. The dvaram (portal) is only open on Vaikuntha Ekadashi, and it is said that anyone who passes through the ‘Vaikuntha Dvaram’ on this day attains Vaikuntha. The temple attracts a massive stream of pilgrims and dignitaries on Vaikuntha Ekadashi.

Vaikunta Ekadasi Fasting Rules and Pooja Vidhanam:

  1. Get up early. People have historically bathed in sacred rivers such as the Ganga and the Yamuna. You can, however, add a few drops of Gangajal to the pail of water in which you want to bathe.
  2. Put on clean clothing after showering.
  3. Dhyana is achieved by lighting an oil lamp and placing it on the altar (meditation).
  4. In order to obtain Lord Vishnu’s favor, make an invocation to him.
  5. Sankalpa should be carried out (pledge and align your thoughts with the divine).
  6. Take Lord Ganesha’s blessings to ensure that your vrat runs well.
  7. Lord Vishnu should be served water (Jal), sandalwood paste (Chandan), vermillion (Kumkum), uncooked rice combined with turmeric (Akshat), natural smell (Gandham), flowers (Pushpam), holy basil leaves (Tulsi), incense (Dhoop), a light (Deepam), and food (Naivedhyam).
  8. You may make kheer, halwa, or any other delectable delicacy. Fruits such as a brown coconut sliced in half, paan and supari, and Dakshina might also be included (a few currency coins).
  9. Aarti should be performed at the end of the pooja (salutations with ignited camphor).
