The Famous Madhva Saint, Philosopher Sri Vyasa Teertha, who resided in this area in the 16th century, is reputed to have gained moksha by persistently praising and contemplating the tiny image of Lord Venkateswara on the northeastern corner of the Ananda Nilaya Vimanam.
In brief, the second stage of the Vimana of the Ananda Nilayam contains an icon known as “vimana Venkateswara Swamy.” On the northwest corner of the Vimana, there is a miniature reproduction of the Moola Vigraha. Visitors to this temple make it a point to worship this idol in the hope of finding salvation. The icon has a name board and a silver “Thiruchi” to set it apart from the other idols.
