Alampur is a famous town in the Jogulamba gadwal district in Telangana. Alampur is a not only place for Sri Matha Jogulambha temple but is also famous for the meeting point of two rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra. The main deities at the Jogulamba temple are Jogulamba and Balabrahmeswara, a form of Shiva. In this temple, Goddess Jogulamba is seated on a corpse with a scorpion, frog, and lizard on the pinnacle. The phrase Jogulamba is derived from the Telugu word Yogula Amma which means the mother of Yogis.
