Alampur is a famous town in the Jogulamba gadwal district in Telangana. Alampur is a not only place for Sri Matha Jogulambha temple but is also famous for the meeting point of two rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra. This Alampur Jogulambha Temple is famously known as Dakshina Kashi. And it is also called the Western gateway of Srisailam. The Yogamba (Jogulamba) sanctuary is viewed as a Shakti Peetha where Sati Devi’s top teeth fell. The folklore of Daksha Yaga and Sati’s self-immolation is the starting point story of Shakti Peethas. The primary sanctuary became grounded by means of Muslim trespassers in 1390 A.D. The sanctuary was modified after 615 years.

The main deities at the Jogulamba temple are Jogulamba and Balabrahmeswara, a form of Shiva. In this temple, Goddess Jogulamba is seated on a corpse with a scorpion, frog, and lizard on the pinnacle. The phrase Jogulamba is derived from the Telugu word Yogula Amma which means the mother of Yogis. In 2019, the temple turned into included in the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation development force) scheme of the government of India.
