Despite the COVID-19 lockdown, a top TTD official announced that followers of Lord Venkateswara at the well-known hill shrine of Tirumala will soon be able to purchase the holy “laddu prasadams” at discounted rates in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad as well as all district headquarters in Andhra Pradesh. This came about as a result of repeated petitions from devotees who have been denied access to Lord Venkateswara’s hillside darshan since March 20 owing to the coronavirus outbreak, according to TTD Board Chairman Y V Subba Reddy.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, devotees have been unable to see Lord Venkateswara in the hills since March 20.
