The most significant festival in Tirumala is the annual Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavams, which is celebrated in September or October each year. The city observes many significant Hindu holidays, such as Sankranti, Ugadi, etc. In Tirumala, Vaikunta Ekadasi is observed on the day that Vaikunta Dwarams are thought to open.
