Venkateshwara Swamy has permitted lord Varaha to stay in Tirumala, on a condition that Whoever Visits Lord Venkateshwara Swamy should visit Lord Varaha, and also the Naivedyam offered to Lord Venkateshwara Swamy should be offered to Lord Varaha first. the Idol here is the lord Aadi Varaha Swamy And hence Tirumala is also known as Aadi Varaha Kshetra.

Daily rituals are held as per vaikanasa Agama. During the Annual Brahmatsavams Chakrasnanam event, Vaikunta Dwadasi, Varaha Jayanti is also celebrated and Rathasapthami will be held at the Mukha mandapa of Varahaswamy Temple.
