Vinayaka Chavithi is a Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. The festival is celebrated in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September) as per the Hindu calendar.

This year, The Vinayaka Chavithi will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19. The festival begins on Monday, with Gowri Habba on September 18, followed by Ganesha Chaturthi, and ends on Wednesday, September 20, with Ganesha Visarjan.

In Some regions, Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayaka Chathurthi pooja is celebrated on September 18. This can be also recommended and followed based on the locations and process of celebrations in regions.

Cut the lemon in half and offer one half to the idol. Perform aarti to the Ganesha idol again. Perform archana to the Ganesha idol by offering it flowers, fruits, and sweets. Fasting is optional, but many Hindus observe a vrat (fast) on the day of Ganesha Chaturthi.
