About Gokarnanatheshwara Temple Mangalore:

The Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, also known as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is located in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Narayana Guru consecrated it. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Gokarnanatha. Adhyaksha HoigeBazar Koragappa erected this temple in 1912. The Billava community now refers to this temple as “Aadi.”

The temple is located 2 kilometers from the city center of Mangalore. The Gopuram (tower-like structure) of the temple is adorned with murals of many gods and goddesses. Scenes from Hindu epics and mythology are depicted in murals.

Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple is only 3 kilometers from the city center of Mangalore. The lovely Kudroli temple is devoted to Lord Gokarnanatheshwara, a manifestation of Lord Shiva. During Tipu Sultan’s reign, it is thought that this location was utilized to graze land for horses. As a result, the name ‘Kudre’ (horse) ‘vali’ evolved into kudroli throughout time.

His Holiness Narayana Guru, a social reformer and saint, founded Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra in 1912. The original temple edifice was built in the Kerala style; however, the temple was recently restored in 1991 and is now in the Chola style.

Lord Sri Gokarnanatha (Lord Shiva) is the primary deity of the kshetra, and other idols of the kshetra include Lord Ganapathy, Lord Subramanya, Goddess Annapoorneshwari, Lord Bhairava, the Nava Grahas, and Lord Shaneshwara.
