Swamimalai Murugan Temple Abhishekam Timings And History:
Swaminathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple in Swamimalai that is dedicated to Murugan. It is 5 km from Kumbakonam and is on the banks of a river that flows into the Kavery. The temple is one of the six holy sites of Murugan called Arupadaiveedu. Swaminathaswamy’s shrine is on top of a 60-foot-tall (18-meter-tall) hillock, and the shrines of his mother Meenakshi (Parvathi), and father Shiva (Sundareswarar) are downhill. The temple has three gopuram (entrance towers), three sections, and sixty steps. Each step is named after one of the sixty Tamil years.
Muruga wouldn’t let him go because he said Brahma didn’t know what the Om meant. Hindu tale says that Brahma, the god of creation, disrespected Muruga, Shiva’s son when he went to Mount Kailash, where Shiva lives. Brahma said that he made living things by using the Vedas, which are the Hindu holy books. Brahma did not expect the child to ask such a question, so he did not know what to say. Muruga hit Brahma on the head with his hands and put him in jail as a punishment.
Swamimalai Murugan Temple Abhishekam Timings and Story:
Shiva asked Muruga to tell him what Om meant, and Muruga told Shiva what Om meant. Brahma began to read the book with the holy word “Om,” which is called the Pranav Mantra. Vishnu couldn’t help, so Shiva went to Brahma’s aid as a last option. Shiva went to see Muruga and asked him to let Brahma out of jail. Muruga, who was a child, got mad at Brahma and asked him how he made living things. Muruga was the one who made it all happen.
When Muruga heard the answer, he asked Brahma to read the texts from the Vedas. Shiva listened to his son, Muruga like he was a student to a teacher. He gave Muruga the name “Swaminatha Swami” because he acted like a student to a teacher.
“The Teacher of Shiva” is what this name means. When Muruga saw this, he stopped Brahma and asked him to describe what the Pranava Mantra meant. The Devas (celestial gods) were surprised that Brahma wasn’t there, so they asked Vishnu to talk to Muruga about letting Brahma go.
