Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams initiated the Visesha Pooja in 1991 on the 8th of April. This weekly seva was later turned out as Arjitha Seva. The Visesha Pooja Seva is offered to Lord Venkateswara every Monday after the second bell in the morning. Then the utsava vigraha is brought to the Kalyana Mandapam to perform ‘Chaturdasa Kalasa Visesha Puja’ which means 14 Kalasas are used for this sacred ritual.

Out of the Fourteen Kalasas, 7 kalasas are filled with Sudodhaka which means Pure Water. The remaining seven vessels contain Milk, Curd, Ghee, Akshatas (holy grains of rice), Darbha, Panchagavya, and gingelly oil. With the permission of Malayappa Swamy, Priests recite Ankurarpanam and punyaha vachanam. These 14 Kalasas are used to give a holy bath called Tirumanjanam. Thirumanjanam is performed while reciting the Panchasuktas – Sri, Bhu, Nila, Purusha, and Narayana. Then, Abhishekam is performed to the Utsav Murthy and his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.  Later, Purnaharati is offered to conclude the Homam followed by offering Naivedyam to the Utsav Murthy.
