The Golden Temple Vellore complex, which is part of the Thirupuram spiritual park, is located in Tamil Nadu, India, at Thirumalaikodi or merely Malaikodi, Vellore, at the base of a short range of lush greenery. The distances from Tirupati, Chennai, Pondicherry, and Bengaluru are 120 km, 145 km, 160 km, and 200 km, respectively.
The Lakshmi Narayani temple is the most outstanding landmark in Thirupuram. Its Vimanam and Ardha Mandapam are coated in pure gold. The 100-acre temple was built by the Vellore-based charitable foundation Sri Narayani Peedam, which is led by Sri Sakthi Amma, commonly known as “Narayani Amma,” the organization’s spiritual guide. Each and every feature in the temple artwork has a meaning drawn from the Vedas.
The elaborate work on the temple’s gold exterior was created by experts who excel in gold-based temple art. Every single element, including transforming the gold bars into gold foils and mounting the foils on copper, was made by hand. The etched copper plates have been laminated with gold foil that consists of nine or ten layers.
