Ekadashi 2023 – Importance of Ekadashi
Ekadashi is equivalent to a day In Hinduism, Ekadashi has a unique significance. This is the eleventh day of the Hindu lunar month’s two lunar phases. There are two phases of the moon: Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. According to the Hindu calendar, this day occurs 24 times yearly. Occasionally, there are two more Ekadashi in a leap year. On each Ekadashi day, special rewards and blessings are achieved via the performance of particular actions. Additionally, Ekadashi is mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana.
In Hinduism and Jainism, Ekadashi is regarded as a spiritual day. On Ekadashi, both men and women observe a fast. On Nirjala Ekadashi, no food nor drink may be ingested. On this day, rice is not typically consumed. On this day, vegetables and dairy items are ingested.
