Guruvayur Temple is a Hindu temple in the town of Guruvayur, Kerala, India. It is devoted to Guruvayurappan, a manifestation of Vishnu. It is one of the most prominent Hindu pilgrimage sites in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and is also known as Bhuloka Vaikunta.

A conch, Sudarshana Chakra, a mace, and a lotus with a Tulasi or Basil Garland and a pearl necklace adorn Lord Guru’s idol. Lord Unnikrishnan Guruvayoor’s idol stands 4 feet tall and is made of a rare mixture called Padala Anjanam. Locals believe the idol has healing properties. Priests distribute the water used in the Abhishekam (bathing the idol) ceremony for therapeutic purposes.
