The kumarakottam Murugan temple is a very famous Hindu temple. It is located in the periya at Kanchipuram Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is an ancient temple that was built in 1915, and it is one of the most important temples. Lord Murugan is a Hindu God for war, So many people like to visit the temple. The temple’s specialty is that Lord Muruga is depicted holding the water pot and prayer beads of the Rudraksha; it makes the temple special.

Many people visit this temple every Tuesday and Kritika Nakshtram is auspicious to pray and offer in this temple. Many pilgrims visit on these days. There are two most important festivals celebrated, are Skanda Shashti and Vaisakha festival.

It is based on the pilgrim’s comfort and the cost of the ticket. It is 108 km from Tirupati to the temple. A direct bus is available to Kanchi from the Tirupati central bus station. From the Kanchipuram bus station, only 1 km to reach the temple and 1 km from the Railway station.

  • The temple opens at 06 AM and closes at 09 PM from Monday to Sunday.
  • The darshan timings are 06 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 9 PM.
  • There is no entry fee for kumarakottam Murugan temple. Darshan is completely free of cost.
