Architecture Of Srikalahasthi Temple
A few feet from the temple’s entrance, Sri Krishnadevaraya erected a sizable gopuram in 1516. A more compact tower tops the temple’s entrance. In the outer prakaram, there is a subterranean Ganapati shrine, while in the innermost prakaram, there are shrines to Shiva and Parvati. This historic gopuram stands 36.5 meters (120 feet) tall over the main gate and is engraved across the entire temple.
According to inscriptions, the Cholas of the 10th century laid the foundation for the temple’s current edifice, which was then improved and expanded by the Chola emperors of Vijayanagar and Tamilnadu.
